The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA will be rendering expert services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency reported it can be alarmed in regards to the higher range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area daily. The service stage designed for intervention activities a significant inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it complicated with the Workplace to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA SRD will mobilise much more sources to allow the servicing of all clients and increase usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
